About Accent Letters

A name, a place, or a single word can need a character that is missing from your keyboard. Accent Letters makes those characters easier to find, type, and copy.

At accentletters.net, you can look up an accented letter for a quick message, build a longer piece of text, or check a character’s code. The tools are free to use and do not require an account.

Find the letter you need

The character library brings accented letters together from A to Z. Search by character, name, or Unicode value, switch between uppercase and lowercase, and click a letter to copy it. Individual letter guides explain common accents and ways to type them.

Write with an accent keyboard

Use the online accent keyboard to put your words together. On a computer, hover over a letter to see its accent options. On a phone, press and hold a key, then choose the character you want. Copy your finished text into a message, document, or other app.

Look up typing codes

The ALT code directory and letter guides provide reference information for entering characters. Support varies by operating system, application, font, and keyboard, so a shortcut that works in one place may behave differently in another.
